Rumminy is an online game for two players, based on the famous Rummy or Ginrummy card game. The game consists of 74 tiles: two sets of tiles, each having numbers 1 to 9 in four different colours and a joker.
Objective
At the beginning of a game each player receives 8 random tiles. The objective for each of the players is to get rid of these tiles in turns, by making combinations of tiles on the playfield. The player who succeeds first is the winner of the game.
Turns
Each turn a player can add one or more of the tiles from his hand to the combinations on the playfield, or create new combinations. During his turn, a player can rearrange existing combinations, as long as each combination meets the requirements when he ends his turn by committing his changes.
If a player cannot add any of his tiles to the playfield, he must pass his turn and will receive an extra piece from stock. If one number is missing to create a valid combination, a joker can be used instead.
Set requirements
Combinations must consist of tiles of three or more successive numbers in the same colour, or sets of three or four tiles with the same number but having different colours.
Examples of good sets:
Three tiles of the same number in different colors.
Three successive numbers in the same color.
Final Turn Rules
It is the final turn when a player correctly places all of their remaining tiles on the board, attempting to win the game. During this turn, there are two additional restrictions:
- Players cannot place a new joker on the board during the final turn.
- Players cannot place more than 19 new tiles on the board during the final turn.
End of the game
If a player finishes the turn with no tiles left, he or she is the winner. When you win, you gain points. The better the other player is the more points you get. The ranking of these points can be viewed at the leaderboards.
Games can be played against any of the other registered players. There are no limitations to the number of games being played at the same time.
